PART 2 – PRODUCTS See Operable Partition Specification for details. 2.7 OPTIONS C/D. Available Accessories/Options: 1. Pocket Doors: Acousti-Seal Pocket Doors by Modernfold, Inc. 2. Pocket Door configuration shall be manually operated (select one): a. Type I single door hinged to a jamb on one side as required. b. Type II double door hinged to a jamb on each side and closing in the center. c. Type III double doors hinged to a jamb on each side and closing in the center. One of the door panels is equipped with a smaller hinged panel that folds back when the operable partition is extended into the pocket. d. Type IV bi-fold door hinged to a jamb on one side as required. 3. Panels shall be nominal 3-inch (76mm) thick in manufacturer's standard width. All panel horizontal and vertical framing members fabricated from minimum 18-gage formed steel with overlapped and welded corners for rigidity. Frame is designed so that full vertical edges of panels are of formed steel and provide concealed protection of the edges of panel skin. 4. Panel skin shall be (select one): a. 1/2-inch (13mm) tackable gypsum board, class "A" rated single material or composite layers continuously bonded to panel frame. b. 1/2-inch (13mm) tackable moisture resistant gypsum board, class "A" rated single material or composite layers continuously bonded to panel frame. c. 1/2-inch (13mm) medium density fiberboard, single material or composite layers continuously bonded to panel frame. d. Roll-formed steel wrapping around panel edge. Panel skins shall be lock formed and welded directly to the frame for unitized construction. 5. Panels hinges shall be (select one): a. Full leaf butt hinges, attached directly to panel frame with welded hinge anchor plates within panel to further support hinge mounting to frame. Hinges mounted into panel edge or vertical astragal are not acceptable. b. SOSS® invisible laminated hinge with antifriction segments mounted between each heattreated link. Hinge to be attached directly to panel frame. Welded internal hinge bracket shall support the hinge and allow for adjustment of hinge plates. Concealed hinges or hinges mounted into panel edge or vertical astragal are not acceptable. 6. Panel Trim: No vertical trim required or allowed on edges of panels; minimal groove appearance at panel joints. 7. Pocket Door hanging weight shall not exceed 9 lbs./square foot 8. Panel face finish shall be (select as required): a. Reinforced vinyl with woven backing weighing not less than 15 ounces per lineal yard. b. Reinforced heavy duty vinyl with woven backing weighing not less than 27 ounces per lineal yard. c. Acoustical, non-woven needle punch carpet, with fused fibers to prevent unraveling or fray of material. d. Wall covering and upholstery fabric with surface treatment to resist stains. e. Customer's own material (subject to factory approval). f. Full height tackboard with vinyl or fabric covering. i. 1/4-inch natural cork ii. 1/4-inch fiber board tackbase g. Full height steel work surface (chalkboard or dry marker board). h. High pressure plastic laminate on MDF board. i. Wood veneer on MDF board. j. Reconstituted wood veneer (FormWood) on steel skin. k. Uncovered for field finishing. l. Primed for field finishing. 9. Pocket Door jambs shall be continuous channels anchored to a fixed wall. Welded hinge anchor plates shall support pocket door hinges and permit a full 180-degree swing. 10. Pocket Door framing and acoustical baffles as required shall be by others.
